Common Conscience

Have you ever experienced a heart to heart chat with a complete stranger on a flight or in a train en route to a common destination?

I know I often get philosophical when it comes to writing. I started off with a blog post thinking I would write something fun. Seems philosophy amuses me more than anything and I ended up posting more serious discussions.

Yes, we get on a train, a bus or a flight and the passenger next to us talks about something and we get engrossed into a long, deep conversation....happens sometimes, right? Likewise in our journey of life we converse with many people about our common topic or subject of interest and share our views and opinions. At times they tend to match with that of the other person. We all have different roots, teachings, field of work, varieties of food, clothing etc. But somewhere we are all connected with a common thread and that thread is implanted in our souls when we come into existence here. (I do not intend to state or preach anything here.)

Beyond all the differences and divisions in our society, this one thing that I would like to call "common conscience" or "universal conscience" keeps us all united. Don't you think so? Let me make it clear that I am not the first person to say this neither do I want to seek any credit for anything.

Well, this common conscience guides us while we are dealing with a complete stranger, while we are making any crucial decisions, right?

You will ask me - "So what do you have to say?"
My answer would be - "That's it! Nothing else."

Painting

I'm sure I got it in the genes from my mom...a habit of doodling around if I get a paper and a pencil ...I just start to scribble. Sometimes shapes that fit geometrical standards and sometimes just meaningless (rambling of) imagination. With the advent of mobile gadgets - haven't left them untouched either.

While at work at times I was caught embarrassed doing that. However, I figured it was helping me focus more on the task and with problem solving. If you code for 6 days a week at work, you tend to make such excuses. No...I used to love my work.

I started drawing some meaningful shapes, faces, flowers and objects over the years. It all started making sense gradually. Don't know how it all happens but seems like magic. When plan to create a painting and grab my easel and colors...I've seen that it doesn't manifest as you want upon planning. It just has to come from somewhere and then everything seems to work in that direction. I'm talking about the subject or theme of my paintings. All the colors get mixed really well, I don't need either a ruler to draw straight lines, nor I require a stencil. Everything just falls in place at that time.

I think with training I might get better. But then I cannot make it happen every time I decide to after watching videos on how to hold the brush and how to make strokes. You know what I mean...?!

In all these years the one thing that I have noticed about my paintings is that it is always as good as its inspiration is! Yes, at least that theory has been consistent. I feel blessed to have been inspired and been able to portray it. I pray to get inspired more & more and express my deep gratitude to the almighty for granting me senses to feel and express.
